Look at this jerkbag with his DS. There will probably be some reports of 3ds thefts galore

With launches in Japan and Europe already said and done, now it’s America’s turn to grab at the spiffy new 3DS. But are you willing to wait in line for hours?

Let’s be real, the launch lineup could be hotter. It could be SUPER MARIO hotter but it’s not. But then, how long will this awesomesauce be sold out if we’re not grabbing the goods now?

For a review, here’s the launch lineup:

  • Pilot Wings Resort
  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
  • nintendogs+cats
  • Steel Diver
  • Asphalt 3D
  • LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
  • Madden NFL Football
  • Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
  • RIDGE RACER 3D
  • Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D
  • BUST A MOVE UNIVERSE
  • Super Monkey Ball 3D
  • Samurai Warriors Chronicles
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
  • The Sims 3D

I dunno, man. But I know that Paper Mario, Animal Crossing and new Professor Layton games for 3DS are coming out too, so as soon as one of them hits the shelves I will be there handing my hard-earned money to the apathetic cashier.

On the one hand.. this lineup sucks butt. But on the other hand, there’s been crazy amounts of people buying it in London and all over Japan when it first launched, so you decide. You can also pre-order it on Amazon away from the festivities and get a $25 credit for a 3DS game if you want to go the route of “acknowledgment of a stingy wallet”.

It certainly doesn’t help that reports have been released saying that production costs were just $100. WE’RE GETTING FLEECED, MAN.

But personally I won’t be fleeced at launch, just later. What are your thoughts?

Nothing inspiring in the line up at all, just old titles re-vamped for 3D. It’s undeniably a good machine with plenty of potential but it’s like all consoles when they first come out. Need a bit of time to bed in and start showing off what it can do.

Quite funny that at the same time in London there was the iPad 2 launch as well, felt like going down and swapping the signs around…

Personally I’ll be waiting a few more months (Christmas present maybe).
