On January 19th, Nintendo will be holding a special event in New York and later in Amsterdam to show off their 3D handheld, the 3DS. Reggie is said to head up the presentation and make the official announcement on the price and release dates for the 3DS.
Hopefully good ol’ Reggie will make some further announcements on what will be the launch lineup for the system with an official list.
It has already been stated that the 3DS will cost ¥25,000 in Japan, converting to just about $300 in the US, but most industry analysts have speculated that the new device may be sold closer to the $250 price point. Japan will be getting their hands on the system on February 26th and March for the UK, so the US can not be too far behind. Maybe they will announce it to be released in March or April. Who knows? All I know is I need to start saving up.
